City school among top 8 CII young minds contest winners

Hyderabad The year 2020 CII nationwide challenge for young minds programme was held from January to July 2021 and had participation of about 380 schools across India. The top three finalists would be supported with a cash award of Rs 4 lakh and other five schools with Rs 1.5 lakh towards implementation of green measures in their respective schools. The CII has been organising the nationwide challenge for young minds for the last 14 years in collaboration with IGBC and
Carrier. IBGC's flagship event Green Building Congress is aimed at nurturing the habit of greening the campuses.
The award ceremony was held virtually on July 8 and 9. The winning schools were awarded with cash prize, trophy and certificates.
Top three finalists are Kendriya Vidyalay, AFS Begumpet, Hyderabad, Dalmia Vidya Mandir, Rajgangpur, Odisha, Prathmik Pathashala, Kakwadi, Gujarat. Next five finalists are Dalmia Vidya Mandir, Chirawa, Rajasthan, Gyan Mandir Public School, New Delhi, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bowenpally, Hyderabad, Primary School, Zavda, Dist. Dang, Gujarat,Ramnagar Primary School, Dist. Anand, Gujarat
Schools have enthusiastically participated and displayed their ideas and commitment towards environment through their presentations. This year, the programme was completely paperless. A dedicated website was developed for overall implementation.
Chirag Baijal, Managing Director, Commercial HVAC Carrier India congratulated all the schools and appreciated the initiative of IGBC in igniting the young minds. He added that Carrier support for this programme is to pave a sustainable path and this would continue for the years to come.
